Community health screening in Ghana

In rural Ghana, access to healthcare is often limited. Many families lack the resources or knowledge to seek regular medical checkups, leaving treatable conditions undetected until it’s too late.

The Women of Zion Foundation (WOZ) recognized this gap and took action. On July 5, 2025, WOZ conducted free health screening sessions across communities in Ghana, bringing vital medical support directly to those who need it most.

These sessions weren’t just about checkups—they were about empowerment. WOZ educated communities on preventive health, provided basic medical support, and raised awareness about the importance of early detection of diseases.

Health screening event

“A simple screening can change a life. We saw people walk away with hope, knowing their health was in their hands.”

From blood pressure checks to glucose testing, the screenings covered essential health metrics. Volunteers worked alongside local healthcare providers to ensure every participant received personalized attention. For many, it was their first health checkup in years.

The initiative went beyond immediate care. By fostering partnerships with local clinics and community leaders, WOZ laid the groundwork for ongoing health education and access to medical resources, ensuring lasting impact.

The health screenings transformed lives. Families gained the knowledge and tools to prioritize their well-being, and communities grew stronger through shared commitment to health.

This is just the beginning. WOZ is dedicated to expanding these programs, bringing health and hope to more Ghanaians.
